Cleanings

Two of the most effective services we provide are the standard dental checkup and cleaning, as they help our team catch any potential problems early as well as work to prevent others from developing. Dr. Bell will give you a comprehensive exam that covers your teeth, gums, and jaw, and then you’ll receive a meticulous cleaning from either Dr. Bell or a hygienist. This will remove tartar deposits from between your teeth, under your gums and all those areas of your mouth that you can’t reach at home.

Fluoride

You’ll find fluoride added to toothpaste and even tap water, and you’ll also find it in our dental office where we use it every day to help our patients avoid cavities. Upon exposure to the teeth, fluoride actually fortifies enamel and even repairs minor damage that could turn into serious decay later. A fluoride treatment is a standard part of our checkups, and it involves simply applying a gel to the teeth for about a minute. That’s all it takes to provide highly concentrated cavity protection that will last all the way until you or your child’s next appointment.

Periodontal Services

Whenever you finish brushing your teeth, do you always see pink in the sink? Minor oral bleeding could be a sign of periodontal (gum) disease, a very common infection that can actually lead to tooth loss if left untreated. Fortunately, gum disease is relatively easy to handle when caught early, which is why we check for it whenever a patient comes to see us. If you or someone in your household is experiencing red, swollen, or puffy gums that bleed often, be sure to come see us right away so we can protect your/their smile’s foundation with periodontal therapy.

SCALING AND ROOT PLANING

If someone doesn’t brush and floss consistently, plaque can build up on the roots of their teeth below the gum line, which can eventually harden into tartar. This substance is filled with the bacteria that causes gum disease that can’t simply be brushed or flossed away. Scaling and root planing is a type of dental cleaning we use to remove these deposits beyond the reach of a tooth brush or floss.

ENDODONTIC THERAPY (ROOT CANAL THERAPY)

For a patient with an awful toothache (the kind that demands all your focus and prevents you from leaving the house), probably the absolute last thing they want to hear is that they need a root canal. But, in many cases, this is the quickest and most effective way to stop the pain and save the tooth, and thanks to the latest dental techniques, this procedure is nothing like what you’ve seen on TV or in movies. Here at Bell Dental, Dr. Bell combines his experience with a gentle touch to provide complete relief for patients in need while also showing them that root canal therapy is nothing to fear.

ROOT CANAL

Root canals are used to treat teeth that have developed an infection or sustained damage to the dental pulp. The procedure involves numbing a patient, removing the pulp, and then cleaning and filling the tooth before topping it with a restoration. The actual treatment is practically painless, but the reason root canals have such a terrible reputation is because the pain from the initial dental issue often gets falsely connected to the procedure itself. In reality, most patients don’t feel a thing while in the chair and wish they contacted Dr. Bell sooner.

EXTRACTIONS

No one likes thinking about tooth extractions, and that goes double for our team. If it were up to us, our patients would keep all of their natural teeth for life, but in cases of extreme trauma or decay, this often isn’t possible. Sometimes, a tooth can simply be so damaged that repair isn’t possible, in which case Dr. Bell will recommend an extraction. He takes every step to ensure a comfortable experience from beginning to end, so should you or your child ever need a tooth extraction, you can trust it will be stress-free the entire time.
